This year, we will continue to focus on basic math facts. This includes review of addition and subtraction facts as well as multiplication facts. We will also begin solving more complex word problems with multiple steps.
For Social Studies we will be studying basic economics (supply and demand), communities and their differences (urban, suburban, and rural), and basic map skills. The students will also be studying science units on weather, plant and animal survival, humans, and properties of matter. The Language Arts program we will be using is the Scott Foresman Reading Street. This encompasses reading, grammar, spelling, and writing. Cursive writing will also be taught.
