Physical Education

Welcome to the MVVS Physical Education Program!
The benefits of daily physical activity extend far beyond physical health. Research has shown a positive
impact on mental health and academic achievement in students who participate in the recommended 60
minutes of daily physical activity. Physical Education is an important piece of your student’s health and
educational experience.
Your student will participate in P.E. once a week, and twice every other week. A few reminders to make
this a successful year in P.E.:
- For safety reasons, students must wear sneakers to P.E. class
- Bringing a water bottle is highly recommended
- If your child cannot participate in physical education class due to health reasons, please
provide a note. If your child will be out for more than a week, please provide the school with
a doctor’s note.
The P.E. program at MVVS focuses on developing physically literate students. Students develop
fundamental movement skills through a skills-and-movement-concepts approach. The goal of the P.E.
program is for each student to be active, have fun and acquire the skills and attitude that will enable
them to establish life-long physical activity!
